Alphabet Soup

Stirring up Words and Other Treats

First Quarter Books of 2012

One of my favorite gifts I received this past Christmas was my kindle.  It’s so easy to read with a kindle; I love it!  This will make me sound weak-sauce, but it’s so much easier to hold up a kindle than a book.  Don’t even get me started on turning pages.

Reading has been one of my favorite things for years.  I actually fell in love with reading in the 7th grade.  It was this book, Say Goodnight Gracie, that I picked for a book report.  I read it in like two days, and my English teacher sent me back to the library to get another book.  I don’t even remember what the book is like and I’ve never reread it since 7th grade.  Honestly, the only reason I picked it, was because my middle name is Grace.  It’s so easy to judge books by their covers.

You may be interested in what I’ve read since I got my kindle, if not you can stop reading this now.  Some of these books I’ve read from hard copies and some I’ve read on my kindle, but the best part is that I’m reading again!  I’ll rate them out of 5 stars.

Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen – **

One for the Money – Janet Evanovich – ****

Take the Monkeys and Run – Karen Cantwell – ***

The Hunger Games – Suzanne Collins 0 *****

Catching Fire – Suzanne Collins – *****

Mockingjay – Suzanne Collins – *****

Choosing to See – Mary Beth Chapman – ****

***** – couldn’t put it down.

**** – Great read

*** – Enjoyable

** – Good enough to finish

* – Not for me

Any suggestions for what I should read next?  I’m always looking for a good book.
